2009, A Year in Review

I’ve been telling myself the whole day, if I don’t do it today then I won’t probably be doing it or even if I wanted to do it, I won’t have the chance anymore. Yup! It’s 30th December 2009, one more day before year 2009 ends! Tomorrow will sure be filled with tonnes of activities, sure will! Hence it’s a must that I note this down today, year 2009 comes only once right?

Been thinking of what I did this year. Of course, not like last year which I got the chance to broad my first international flight to study in UK, touring around Europe, got employed, things like that. This year, it’s just work and self improvements, in many aspects.

A quick review on my so call “achievements” in year 2009.

I got my first dSLR! =) Since when I like photography? I can say since my Diploma Convo. When I saw the photographer taking pictures with that huge camera, I fell in love with it instantly. After much research, I started to know the difference between compact and dSLR. With dSLR, you can capture the world! I love capturing the moment with it! Just, I’m still lack of skills and practice.

I became some event photographer! That’s just for fun though, I shot…

1. A fullmoon party (not really like the way I did it, could do it better)

2. A gathering party (same, could do it better)

3. A convocation (could do it better as well, quite satisfy with the outcome but a rain ruined the day)

4. Few birthday celebration (Quite satisfy with it)

5. Few travelling tours

6. Family portrait

Definitely looking forward to try it on the street!

I went to Hong Kong! =) It was my childhood dream to pay a visit to that place. All the movies and series I've watched since I was a kid were filmed there! Those places qw so familiar yet so strange.

I was named for a new task! =) One of my greatest satisfaction of the year. An English guy named me for a new task! He says he like my way of work and my attitude of work, although it’s difficult and it’s additional workload for me, but I enjoyed the feeling of being recognised.

I fly alot! Flew so much this year, more to come next year!

More to be shared in other posts, better get back to this post.

Did set myself few targets to hit last year, looking back at them, hmm… some are quite childish, some are not as easy as I thought it would be. At least, I know that I’m a more mature person now.

Out of the 11 targets I set for myself last year which I purposely made it as mysterious as possible I failed? XD, 5 are about love and mostly about You, 2 are related to work, 2 related to way of life and the remainder related to dreams. "Stop dreaming about love and thinking about You anymore", I would tell to myself now. Yes! Telling things to myself, that was my intention when I created this blog, that’s why the heading was written there "From Pharm, For Pharm". Now that I know this really works as I really reminded myself by myself! =)

Well, I can say most of my targets set last year are not fulfilled.

This year, I want to be more realistic and stop dreaming.

I want to speak and write better English.
I want to learn to work independently.
I want to learn to make better decision by considering every point of view.
I want to be a more responsible person.
I want to earn myself a condominium.
I want to earn myself a ***** of saving.
I want to travel to Jordan, India, Oman, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa and again, Hong Kong!
I want to be a scuba diver!
I want to take better pictures.
I want to learn better photoshop technique.
The last one, I want to… find a girlfriend. =P Still can’t stop dreaming, can I? XD

So this year, another 11 targets, 3 on work, 1 on way of life, 4 on dreams, 2 on self improvements and only 1 on love.

This year, let’s see how far I could go!

Wish you guys had a happy 2009 and a even better year to come!

Happy new year 2010! Cheers!!!

2012

We were having this conversation today. Surviving 2012.

If you were given a chance, a chance for you to get onboard the Ark, will you get on it? You must know that, there are only four arks. Each of them fully loaded with only royalties and wealthy people. So, even if you survive the eruption of the volcano, the tremble of the earth’s crust and the seismic shock waves of the ocean, will you survive the ultimate test; humans?

Don’t feel happy for yourself having got onboard the Ark, yet. As far as I could think of, the world is going to end; our lives will still going to a complete foot stop, with or without the Ark.

Why is that? I thought we did survive the lavas, the quakes and the tsunamis.

Yes, but you still have to survive humans. After all, we are the one who messed up the world. I can’t really imagine how the world looks like without many things. Starting from the basic things, can you life without electricity and water supply? Of course, someone has to go down there to get it all set up before we colonise that place! Yes, of course. We were so get used to what we had. Definitely someone has to do it.

Say, there is a group of “someone” who know how to do this, then what they’ll need is either fuel or coal, the most common and easy way to generate electricity. Do we have another group of “someone” for this? How about the outbreak of fatal disease? There’ll be corpses all around the world, no matter where you go. This will definitely leads to many biologically evolved virus and deadly illness. Lacking of medical researchers, laboratories and equipments means the chance of our survival is close to zero.

So now if you know how things work, you’ll probably know that things are chained together. We can’t produce this without that, while that cannot be started without this. There are so many things, issues, problems, etc that we have put into consideration. You might have all the resources to build a city, but you might not have the manpower to do so. If you have the manpower to do so, you don’t have enough food the feed all of them. When you have enough food to feed them, you won’t have enough resources to keep producing that amount of food. In my opinion, the wisest person will not be able to foresee what is going to happen, the situation will be so chaotic that you can’t even imagine. So, if we were to survive the 2012, we’ll probably need half of the world? I think, yes!

So, are you still planning to survive 2012? Think again! =P Don’t be so upset yet, remember Will Smith in "I Am Legend"? His case was much worse than ours’, he stays in earth alone! And Milla Jovovich in "Resident Evil"? There are zombies everywhere! =P

My conclusion? Enjoy 2012 and don't even bring me onboard that Ark! I can tell you that I can't contribute to anything! =P
